The whole infant thing (especially the ones that loves to be held) completely paralyzes me as a possible help to cutting or loading the truck, but I took on the job of going on an "Adventure" with J and P in the woods. J found plenty of rocks to throw, dirt to roll in (and eat?!?!), and sticks/grasses to swish around. P loves looking at the swaying leaves in the trees and slept soundly when he wore himself out. The dog was thrilled to have no limitations. :)
Yes, we would have rather been hiking as a family (communicating is difficult over the sound of the chain saw) but we took advantage of an opportunity to explore and be together while we (ok, he) worked.

J didn't know the smell of the chainsaw gas I guess - hence him covering his nose in ALL the pictures! |
So, about that diaper changing.... It obviously has to be done, and due to the fact the cab of the truck was full of snacks, water bottles, extra gear and car seats (plus hunting stuff "just in case") it meant changing diapers on the ground. This is where I get to plug one of my go-to "Baby In Action" items.
I love my Patemm Pad - I can throw a couple diapers for both boys in there (or one cloth diaper for each) + wipes and go. There is no need to carry a whole diaper bag (when there really isn't room for one anyway.) Sometimes I will even throw in an extra onsie in one of the pockets just in case. I take it with me nearly everywhere - biking, hiking and in the car. Yes, it is a bit more bulky than just a small changing pad, but it doubles as a sit-upon (you know, something you sit upon) and is padded enough to provide a little protection for Baby from rocks and sticks, etc. The best thing is that they are machine-washable AND easily wipeable. (I cannot even tell you how many changing pads I ruined by washing them.) They are also a circle-shape and provide enough wiggle room for those babies that just don't lay still (like mine) or two kids at once (it is tight, but it works!)
Hiking this summer with my friend (she was holding down the hat from blowing away while I changed quickly!) |
So, I took a chance and contacted Patemm to see if they would donate a pad to one of my readers. They said YES and offered a 20% discount to everyone (so no tears if you don't win!)
To get your 20% discount, go to www.patemm.com and use code mtmama when checking out. They also just came out with their exclusive, limited Winter Collection available only through facebook (not through patemm.com) and they often do facebook-exclusive sales. These are great baby-gifts!
To WIN please use the "Rafflecopter" Gadget below. To avoid confusion, you HAVE to do the first two items and then it will allow you to get the extra entries. Please read the instructions, do the task and then click "done" (you are not entered until you click that "done" button.) When I chose the winner randomly, I will confirm that they have indeed done that task and then contact them by email and post the winner here. This contest will remain open until midnight ET October 13th. I will post the winner on Friday, October 14th. Make sure when you post a comment on the blog, I know who you are (use your initials or your email address if you don't want to post your name.)

ReplyDeletepatemm pads ARE the best-- they last and last and can be used for lots of things other than diaper changes. I got one as a gift when I was pregnant with my first son (who will be 4 in December) and it's still going strong with my 4 month old son! I love all the patterns, but I think the blue and white signature is my very favorite. :)
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen these before either, but I love the circle because my kid did not get the you must stay put memo when changing her. :o)

I enjoyed the New York City Mama print. I also liked the Orange and White print. I am done having children but, my sister is just being. This would be given to her as a gift. I am sure that she would really enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteI like the orange/white pattern, simply for the fact that I think earthen stains and breastfed poop won't show up so bad! :)
ReplyDeleteNeat pad! Think I can fit all three Fischer babes on there ? :)
ReplyDeleteSeriously, how do you have time for such fun things, like blogging? I love the wood cutting, and want to know where you found itty bitty Carhart overalls! I need some...
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love the mini Carhartts! These Patmm pads seem like a great idea for something to keep in the car in case you forget your diaper bag too. I have so done that! I like the "mare" pattern, even though it isn't waterproof.
ReplyDeleteI spotted an Action Baby Carrier!! :-D
ReplyDeleteDo you cut on your property? We just got wood burners (indoor) this weekend and have to start our cutting- we also have harsh- LONG winters here too. And it is coming SOON! We have some ok oak and maples that fell over a year ago- but our property is very heavy Aspen- not the best wood to burn for heat- but looks like it is what we will be using a lot of the time. We are looking at getting a downwood permit.
I love the orange signature design and I've been looking for new changing pads. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI love the signature orange! What a great product!!!
ReplyDeleteI've never seen these...and I love them! My favorite is the Kinaban. Thanks Amelia!
